DEFINITION

A non-profit organization which supports people who live with cancer especially children and teens.


HISTORY

Cancer Buster Community was established in 2006, May 24. As an affiliate of Indonesian Childhood Oncology Foundation and was founded by survivors to help others, especially unfortunate families who are still struggling with cancer.

GOALS

To motivate children cancer patients and their family to hold on and keep fighting, to bond with cancer patients, doctors and volunteers, also to create more awareness about childhood cancer in society.

MISSION

To provide a support group for survivors, to give support and courage toward cancer patients, and to advocate to the public that childhood cancer is curable.

PRINCIPLES

Working as family, enthusiasm, cooperation, solidarity, determination, respect, and compassion.

ACTIVITIES

Visiting cancer ward in hospitals once a week, giving support and encouragement to patients. Campaigning about cancer in hospitals, schools, campuses and companies. Conducting charity events for children with cancer. Giving art performances (chair, theater) by members in public events for cancer awareness. Publishing a book called "Survivors Stories", containing several stories describing the struggle of overcoming cancer by the survivors.
